Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Detroit will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in Michigan usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 5β9:15 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. From the moment we stepped into the elevator, we knew Highlands was going to be something special. What followed was not just dinner it was a truly elevated experience that combined breathtaking views, impeccable service, and exceptional cuisine. Perched high above the city, the panoramic views of the Detroit skyline and river were absolutely stunning. Watching the ever-changing clouds roll across the horizon while the city stretched out below created a backdrop unlike any other dining experience in Detroit. Every glance out the window felt worthy of a photograph. The service was impeccable from beginning to end. Every member of the team was welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to creating a memorable evening. From the moment we arrived until the final course was served, every detail was executed flawlessly. We began with the Wagyu Beef Tartare, and it was outstanding. The tartare was incredibly fresh, beautifully seasoned, and so succulent it practically melted in your mouth. Each bite showcased the richness and quality of the wagyu while remaining delicate and balanced. It was one of those dishes that immediately makes you realize youβre in for somethin

Excellent service and food as is expected of such an establishment. Our water cups were never empty. The food came out exactly at the temp it was meant to be eaten and the views were stunning. There was a concert at the park below so it was cool to see the crowds from above. Great spot for special events that we'll only have for another year. :(

Flavours were bold and very unique pairings of food some worked better than others but its a must to eat here. The ambiance is elegant and refined, exactly what yu would expect from a dine dinning establishment. The prix fix menu had a multitude of options and variety some choices are a bit more bold than others but the chef clearly has perfected his craft and ypu should not shy away from trying something new here. Wait staff was incredible almost as if they were pampering me thru every course and it felt genuine which only enhances the experience.

We always have a memorable experience at Highlands! Celebrated my birthday there for the second time along my young daughter. They are always so welcoming and pleasant throughout the visit. We enjoyed a 3 course meal with the tomahawk and it was so delicious. I really enjoyed the red pepper soup too! Oh and I found out they have Old Forester Birthday Bourbon! We love the experience every time we have been there.

This upscale fine dining is certainly expensive but itβs a once in a lifetime experience that is a must try, especially if youβre from Detroit. We went for a birthday dinner and everything was splendid! Weβre usually not fans of American restaurants as our first choice to eat out but this truly had some of the best foods weβve tried. The meat is not halal for whomever strictly follows halal/kosher. However, they have plenty of seafood options and can omit alcohol for certain dishes depending on their seasonal menu rotation. Wagyu beef tartare and tuna crudo were the best items on the menu, hands down. Anyone who is a fan of sushi or nigiri would absolutely enjoy these. I personally cook fancy or high end meals at home, and will definitely try my best to recreate these for our own enjoyment. We tried the king prawnsβ¦ which honestly was not the best in terms of flavor. It was too citrusy and that mixed with the spice did not pair well, ended up tasting bitter. Addition of the parsnip made it worse, if I were to be honest. The prawns themselves were cooked perfectly and tasted good on its own. In the future, maybe a sweeter based sauce would pair nicely with the spiciness and pars
